Christian Light-line

The history of Christianity clearly aligns with the Light-line Pattern.

As this Light-line takes up much of the “action” period of the Story of Redemption Light-line, it comes as no surprise that just as the “action” period of the Hebrew Light-line was characterized by Israel’s degradation following the glory days of Solomon’s reign…characterized by pride, idolatry, captivity, persecution, and spiritual exclusivity…so the Christian Light-line is characterized by spiritual Israel’s apostasy from apostolic purity, by papal pride, idolatry, captivity, persecution, and spiritual exclusivity.

1. 40 Days with the Resurrected Christ (Light)

For forty days Christ remained on the earth, preparing the disciples for the work before them and explaining that which heretofore they had been unable to comprehend. He spoke of the prophecies concerning His advent, His rejection by the Jews, and His death, showing that every specification of these prophecies had been fulfilled. He told them that they were to regard this fulfillment of prophecy as an assurance of the power that would attend them in their future labors. The Acts of the Apostles, 26.2.

2. Pentecost (Cornea)

An especially close correspondence exists between the Christian Light-line, and the last Light-line of redemption history. The “cornea” event in the Final Redemption Light-line was the end-time Former Rain poured out on 9/11/2001. This, of course, was a time-of-the-end repeat of the Former Rain which fell upon Jesus’ disciples as a sign that Christ’s inauguration as King and High Priest in heaven was complete.

The Spirit came upon the waiting, praying disciples with a fullness that reached every heart. The Infinite One revealed Himself in power to His church. It was as if for ages this influence had been held in restraint, and now Heaven rejoiced in being able to pour out upon the church the riches of the Spirit’s grace. And under the influence of the Spirit, words of penitence and confession mingled with songs of praise for sins forgiven. Words of thanksgiving and of prophecy were heard.

Such words and songs were heard not only on the earth as the Spirit was poured out. In heaven, the 24 elders, who had be raised up at Christ’s resurrection from their tombs, the four beasts, and countless angels joined in praising God:

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands. Revelation 5:9-11.

3. Revelation (Lens)

The light of the gospel of Jesus Christ was finally brought into perfect focus for humanity when the Revelation of Jesus Christ, the final book of the Bible, was given to God’s church. Reflective of this, the man to whom God chose to reveal the “lens” of the Final Redemption Light-line on 9/9/11 – 9/11/11, had been led, earlier that same year, to memorize and be able to quote in its entirety the book of Revelation.

4. 508 A.D. (Retina)

Just as Western civilization will reach the true watershed between Protestant and Papal supremacy when a national Sunday Law is passed in the U.S. (the “retina” event of our current-day sacred history), so in 508 A.D. the watershed between Pagan and Papal supremacy in Western civilization was reached.

In 496, Clovis, king of the Franks, became the first barbarian king to convert to Catholicism. From that time, the little, Papal horn began to push its way upward out of the skull of the Roman beast, clinging at first to the Frankish horn like a vine clings to a trellis. Clovis became a powerful military defender of Catholicism and a potent enemy of Arianism. By the year 508, Clovis had brought into subjection “by alliances, capitualtions, and conquests, the Arborici, the Roman garrisons in the West, Brittany, the Burgundians, and the Visigoths” (U. Smith. Thoughts on Daniel and Revelation, 271 ) and had received the honorary titles of Roman Patricius and Consul from the eastern emperor, Anastasias. The Franks’ victories amounted to a triumph of Catholicism.

In A.D. 508 terminated united resistance to the development of the papacy. The question of supremacy between Frank and Goth, between the Catholic and the Arian religions, had then been settled in favor of the Catholics. Thoughts on Daniel and Revelation, 330.

What the Franks were for Catholicism in 508, the U.S. will be for Catholicism in the near future.

5. 538 A.D. (Image)

“When the image of Christ is reflected in the life and character of his followers” (Signs of the Times, 5/18/1892, par. 7) there will be heard a “voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters.” It will be the voice of God – the words of Jesus which are “spirit” and “life” (John 6:63). It will be the full outpouring of the Latter Rain! Then will also be heard the “voice of harpers, harping with their harps” and the “new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders.” See Revelation 14:2-3.

As wax takes the impression of the seal, so the soul is to take the impression of the Spirit of God [especially in the full outpouring of the Latter Rain] and retain the image of Christ. The Faith I Live By, 287.3.

Immediately juxtaposed with Revelation’s presentation (14:2-3) of the Latter-Rain or image-of-Christ experience we find the book’s description (13:14-18) of the final image of the beast…the final combination of apostate Christianity with state power to enforce religious law (see The Great Controversy, 443-444). It is my firm conviction that at the very time that the Latter Rain celebrates the impression of the image of Christ upon the 144,000, the U.S. government will place its power most completely at the disposal of apostate Christianity, thereby bringing to completion the formation of the image to the beast in America.

Reflecting, in the Christian Light-line, this last-day “image” event, we see the Catholic bishop coming to posses full religio-political authority in 538 A.D.

6. 1260 Dark Years (Action)

The Assyrian and Babylonian captivities of Israel were centered in the “action” period of the Hebrew Light-line. It is not surprising, then, how the “action” period of the Christian Light-line is the 1260 years that spiritual Babylon exerted her tyrannical power over Western civilization.

Note that the last great evangelistic effort of history, led by the 144,000 after the full outpouring of the Latter Rain, will take place during what is known as the “Little Time of Trouble.” During this time, it will again be true that “all the world wondered after the beast.” Revelation 13:3.

 7. The Deadly Wound Inflicted in 1798 A.D. (Deadline)

1798 A.D. –

At that time, when the papacy was abolished and the pope made captive by the French army, the papal power received its deadly wound, and the prediction was fulfilled, “He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity.”  The Great Controversy, 439.2.

How does this parallel the “deadline” event (the close of probation) in the Final Redemption Light-line?

It is at the close of human probation, when Michael stands, that Revelation 17:19 will be fulfilled: “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”

Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah. Psalms 9:19-20.

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.” Psalms 68:1.

The wicked that oppress me…are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly. They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth; Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword: Psalms 17:9-13.

The eighteenth chapter of Revelation gives the most famous description of Babylon’s ultimate destruction as Michael stands. The Psalmist’s prayers will be most fully answered at the very end of redemption history.

At the “time of the end” in 1798, the Catholic church only tasted what it will experience when the Lord shall finally arise.

8. End-time Judgment (Results)

Following the close of human probation and the total collapse of the Babylon super-system, the world will suffer the outpouring of the Seven Last Plagues.
